Cyprus

Cyprus, officially the Republic of Cyprus, is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It is geographically a part of West Asia, but its cultural ties and geopolitics are overwhelmingly Southeast European. Cyprus is the third largest and third-most populous island in the Mediterranean.

  • Language: Greek and Turkish The island is divided into two, and the Cypriot Turks live to the north, the Greek Cypriots to the south.
  • Culture: The Republic of Cyprus, operating a free-enterprise economy based on agriculture and trade, achieved a standard of living higher than most of its neighbours.
